"M. C. Escher. Tutti i Capolavori" al Centro Culturale Altinate/San Gaetano. Analisi della Mostra (18 febbraio 2026 - 19 luglio 2026)

This thesis analyses the exhibition entitled “M. C. Escher. All the Masterpieces”, presented in Padua at Centro Culturale Altinate/San Gaetano from 18th February to 19th July 2026. The event aims to narrate the life of Dutch engraver Maurits Cornelis Escher through his prints, highlighting the influence his work has had not only in the artistic field, but also in the scientific and mathematical fields. In addition to Escher's works, the works of artists who took inspiration from him and who have re-proposed his “impossible constructions” in the musical, comic book and cinematic fields are also presented. The aim of this thesis is to provide a detailed analysis of the entire exhibition, shedding light on the motivations that led to its creation, the choices made at the museographic level, and the meanings contained in the works of this visionary artist.

Questa tesi analizza la mostra intitolata “M. C. Escher. Tutti i Capolavori”, presentata a Padova al Centro Culturale Altinate/San Gaetano dal 18 febbraio al 19 luglio 2026. L’evento mira a raccontare la vita dell’incisore olandese Maurits Cornelis Escher attraverso le sue stampe, evidenziando l’influenza che il suo operato ha avuto non solo in ambito artistico, ma anche in ambito scientifico e matematico. Oltre alle opere di Escher, vengono presentati anche i lavori di artisti che hanno preso ispirazione da lui e che hanno riproposto le sue “costruzioni impossibili” in ambito musicale, fumettistico e cinematografico. L’obiettivo di questa tesi è riportare un’analisi dettagliata dell’intera mostra, facendo luce sulle motivazioni che hanno portato alla sua realizzazione, sulle scelte che sono state prese a livello museografico e sui significati contenuti nelle opere di questo artista visionario.
