IL DARK TOURISM TRA IMPATTO EMOTIVO E VALORE EDUCATIVO: IL CASO DI AUSCHWITZ

This thesis explores the subject of dark tourism, focusing on the specific case of Auschwitz ranging from general definitions and concepts to guided tours and the value they offer. Each visit holds educational significance and leaves an emotional impact on us all. Every year, a great number of visitors choose sites associated with this type of tourism to keep memories alive. My ultimate goal with this thesis is to demonstrate that such an experience goes beyond mere tourism; in reality, it offers an opportunity to reflect on history, culture, and human rights.

Questa tesi parla del dark tourism facendo focus sul caso di Auschwitz, partendo dalla definizione e concetto generale fino ad arrivare alle visite guidate e al valore che ci danno. Ogni visita esprime un valore educativo e un impatto emotivo su ognuno di noi. Ogni anno moltissimi visitatori scelgono siti su questo genere di turismo per mantenere la memoria viva. Il mio obiettivo finale con questa tesi è far vedere come un'esperienza di questo tipo non sia solo turistica ma che in verità nasconda un modo per riflettere sulla storia, la cultura e i diritti umani.
