This thesis explores the connection between Destination Management strategies and the enhancement of cultural heritage, focusing specifically on the role of the Imperial Collections. Through the analysis of regional marketing policies and the management of tourist flows related to cultural assets of imperial significance, the research examines how the country’s historical identity and millenary tradition are integrated into modern international tourism promotion campaigns. The study highlights how the synergy between the preservation of historical memory and contemporary branding strategies not only enhances the destination's attractiveness but also contributes to defining a solid, coherent, and distinctive image of Japan on the global stage.
Il presente elaborato approfondisce il legame tra le strategie di Destination Management e la valorizzazione del patrimonio culturale, concentrandosi in particolare sul ruolo delle Collezioni Imperiali. Attraverso l'analisi delle politiche di marketing territoriale e la gestione dei flussi turistici legati ai beni culturali di rilevanza imperiale, la ricerca esamina come l'identità storica e la tradizione millenaria del Paese vengano integrate nelle moderne campagne di promozione turistica internazionale. Lo studio evidenzia come la sinergia tra la conservazione della memoria storica e le strategie di branding contemporanee non solo favorisca l'attrattività della destinazione, ma contribuisca a definire un'immagine solida, coerente e distintiva del Giappone nel panorama globale.
