The contamination of urban green areas with canine faeces may represent a health risk due to the presence of zoonotic parasites. As part of a multicentre study conducted in 2025 by 11 operative units distributed across the country, five urban green areas were monitored in the city of Padua, including three dog parks. Five fresh faecal samples per area were collected monthly over 12 consecutive months and analysed using the Mini-FLOTAC technique. Out of a total of 300 samples analysed, the positive findings recorded in Padua were among the lowest compared to the other participating units and involved the following parasitic taxa: Ancylostomatidae, Capillaria spp. and Toxocara canis. Positive samples were concentrated in the colder months, between January and April. The limited number of positive samples did not allow the construction of monthly prevalence curves for individual parasite species in the city of Padua. The results suggest that urban green areas in Padua present a relatively low level of parasitic contamination, while still confirming the need for continuous monitoring and preventive measures to protect both public and animal health
