This thesis analyzes the role of viscosity modifiers in the formulation of lubricants, focusing on chemical structure and its influence on system properties. Specifically, the work focuses on the main types of viscosity modifiers used in industry, analyzing their chemical composition, structural characteristics and principal synthesis methods. In addition, the effects of the different structure on the performance of lubricants under varying conditions, such as temperature, are discussed, providing an overall view of their use and importance in formulation.
