Luminol is a widely used chemiluminescent compound. The mechanism of its chemiluminescence reaction has been extensively investigated over time, clearly identifying 3-aminophthalic acid as the luminophore responsible for the light emission. In this work, we demonstrate that 3-aminophthalic acid itself can be chemically excited without undergoing permanent chemical modification, thereby exhibiting regenerative chemiluminescence. The underlying mechanism of this process is herein investigated.

Abstract
Luminol is a widely used chemiluminescent compound. The mechanism of its chemiluminescence reaction has been extensively investigated over time, clearly identifying 3-aminophthalic acid as the luminophore responsible for the light emission. In this work, we demonstrate that 3-aminophthalic acid itself can be chemically excited without undergoing permanent chemical modification, thereby exhibiting regenerative chemiluminescence. The underlying mechanism of this process is herein investigated.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
