Alzheimer's disease is the most common form of neurodegenerative disorder: clinically, it is characterized by a progressive decline in cognitive functions, particularly memory. Sleep plays a fundamental role in memory consolidation processes. In recent years, a growing body of evidence has shown that sleep disturbances may be associated with both the development and progression of Alzheimer's disease, suggesting the existence of a bidirectional relationship. The available evidence highlights the importance of the early identification and treatment of sleep disorders, with the potential to reduce the risk of developing Alzheimer's disease.

Abstract
Alzheimer's disease is the most common form of neurodegenerative disorder: clinically, it is characterized by a progressive decline in cognitive functions, particularly memory. Sleep plays a fundamental role in memory consolidation processes. In recent years, a growing body of evidence has shown that sleep disturbances may be associated with both the development and progression of Alzheimer's disease, suggesting the existence of a bidirectional relationship. The available evidence highlights the importance of the early identification and treatment of sleep disorders, with the potential to reduce the risk of developing Alzheimer's disease.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
