The thesis aims to understand the structural problem affecting the tail of the “Midnight” prototype drone, developed by the LiftUP student group, under worst-case flight conditions. The study estimates the aerodynamic loads and, using a preliminary theoretical approach, evaluates the structural integrity of the tail. For completeness, the FEM results are evaluated, which capture the overall behavior of the structure and allow for a more accurate interpretation of the behavior of the composite materials constituting the tail.

Abstract
The thesis aims to understand the structural problem affecting the tail of the “Midnight” prototype drone, developed by the LiftUP student group, under worst-case flight conditions. The study estimates the aerodynamic loads and, using a preliminary theoretical approach, evaluates the structural integrity of the tail. For completeness, the FEM results are evaluated, which capture the overall behavior of the structure and allow for a more accurate interpretation of the behavior of the composite materials constituting the tail.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
