Purpose: with this thesis I performed a bibliographic analysis of articles concerning the prevention of surgical infections especially in patients at risk or carriers of MRSA who are undergoing surgery Materials and Methods: the research question was formulated through the use of the PICO method, various databases were consulted, mainly PubMed, Cochrane Database, CINAHL, some manuals, texts and guidelines. The limits set for the search are: the historical period from 2011 to 2021, the presence of full tests and the use of the Boolean AND operator in the search string. During the search, all articles relating to the pediatric area and articles that did not treat MRSA infections were excluded. Results: 10 articles were reviewed, which report the incidence of MRSA in patients (in anticipation of surgery) and the relapses it entails in operated patients, especially in the specialties: breast, orthopedic and cardiology. In addition, some articles concern the use of mupirucine and the appropriate care pathway for these people. From the analysis of the problem and the research, it is highlighted that MRSA is a bacterium that creates many problems both at a health and economic level. It is also very common in patients undergoing surgery and for this reason it is important that operators must know the appropriate screening and protocols in order to be able to prevent and treat it in time. Conclusion: the fundamental aspect that emerged from the bibliographic analysis is the need to increase knowledge and therefore to continue to deepen and refine the studies relating to strategies, approaches and techniques for the prevention and control of the infection of this bacterium
