This report presents the optimization project carried out at Compositex S.r.l. concerning a rear insert of a Moto2 swingarm, originally made of aluminum alloy. Based on the constraints and objectives defined by the client, a comparative analysis was conducted among a selection of materials commonly used in the automotive sector, with the aim of identifying the most suitable solution. After an introductory overview of the materials considered, their advantages and disadvantages are evaluated to select the most appropriate one. The report then focuses on the chosen material, Sheet Moulding Compound (SMC), and its manufacturing process. The document concludes with a description of the production process adopted by the company for the realization of the insert under study.
