Resistance training represents a fundamental tool for the development of strength and muscle hypertrophy. Among the variables that characterize its programming, training frequency has been subject to different interpretations and remains a topic of interest in the scientific literature. The aim of this thesis is to evaluate whether training frequency influences strength and muscle hypertrophy adaptations when weekly volume is kept constant. To this end, a literature review was conducted, primarily considering experimental studies that compared different training frequencies under volume-equated conditions and assessed strength and/or muscle hypertrophy adaptations. Overall, most of the studies analyzed did not show statistically significant differences between the frequencies compared, although some differences emerged for specific outcomes and trends were not always oriented in the same direction. The evidence therefore suggests that, when weekly volume is equated, frequency does not in itself represent a determining factor for strength and hypertrophy adaptations. Rather, it appears to play primarily an organizational role, allowing training volume to be distributed throughout the week according to the characteristics of the program, recovery capacity, and individual needs.

Abstract
Rather, it appears to play primarily an organizational role, allowing training volume to be distributed throughout the week according to the characteristics of the program, recovery capacity, and individual needs.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
