Il voter model: proprietà e applicazioni

This thesis aims to contextualize and analyze the voter model: a significant example of a spatially explicit stochastic competition model within the framework of interacting particle systems. Particular attention will be paid to the role of coalescing random walks in its analysis, and to how the rich dynamics exhibited by the model display different behaviors depending on the dimension in which it is studied.

Questa tesi si propone di contestualizzare ed analizzare il voter model: un esempio significativo di modello stocastico di competizione spazialmente esplicito, nell’ambito degli interacting particle systems. Verrà posta particolare attenzione al ruolo che ricoprono i cammini aleatori coalescenti nella sua trattazione e di come la ricca dinamica che esibisce il modello, assuma comportamenti diversi a seconda della dimensione in cui lo si studia.
