This thesis work addresses the issue of production system reconfiguration, focusing on the strategic transition from a functional layout (job-shop) to a cellular manufacturing layout. The main objective is to evaluate the technical-economic feasibility of this transition as sales volumes vary. The study is divided into two complementary phases. Initially, a static analytical dimensioning was conducted, calculating the requirement for machinery (CNC and traditional) and operators, introducing industrial reality parameters such as setup times, batch sizing, and physiological inefficiencies. Subsequently, the system was validated in a dynamic environment using discrete event simulation models. This allowed for the analysis of complex phenomena not detectable statically, such as queue management, buffer dimensioning, and the evolution of bottlenecks. Finally, through the comparative analysis of the layout data, the introduced advantages and disadvantages were measured, identifying the optimal break-even point to justify the investment and the logistical transition.

Abstract
Finally, through the comparative analysis of the layout data, the introduced advantages and disadvantages were measured, identifying the optimal break-even point to justify the investment and the logistical transition.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
