This thesis analyzes the interdependencies within an industrial economic system using the Input-Output approach. Based on the hypothesis of a linear relationship between variables—specifically, production levels and external demand for goods—the static Leontief model is broken down using matrix algebra. The conditions ensuring the existence of unique and economically meaningful solutions are then examined in depth. Subsequently, the model is extended to the dynamic case by introducing a time variable to represent more realistic phenomena, such as lags in production and the availability of goods. Finally, the theoretical concepts are applied to a real-world case involving the Italian economy, thereby validating the effectiveness of using mathematical models in economics.

Abstract
This thesis analyzes the interdependencies within an industrial economic system using the Input-Output approach. Based on the hypothesis of a linear relationship between variables—specifically, production levels and external demand for goods—the static Leontief model is broken down using matrix algebra. The conditions ensuring the existence of unique and economically meaningful solutions are then examined in depth. Subsequently, the model is extended to the dynamic case by introducing a time variable to represent more realistic phenomena, such as lags in production and the availability of goods. Finally, the theoretical concepts are applied to a real-world case involving the Italian economy, thereby validating the effectiveness of using mathematical models in economics.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
