"Andare Oltre: Letteratura Portoghese, Filosofia e Musica"

This thesis investigates and analyzes the concept of "Beyond" from a literary, philosophical, and musical perspective. The first chapter reconstructs its philosophical and linguistic roots, from Nietzsche's Übermensch to Pirandello's notion of multiplicity, passing through Pessoa's poetics. The second chapter explores the literary declination of the além within Portuguese Modernism, through the literary relationship between Fernando Pessoa himself and Mário de Sá-Carneiro. The third chapter, instead, addresses the emotional function of contemporary music, narrated from a more personal standpoint. What emerges is a discourse that reveals the constant presence and transformation of a human need to overcome limits.

La presente tesi indaga e analizza il concetto di "Oltre" dal punto di vista letterario, filosofico e musicale. Il primo capitolo ne ricostruisce le radici filosofiche e linguistiche, dall'Oltreuomo di Nietzsche alla molteplicità di Pirandello, passando per la poetica di Pessoa. Il secondo capitolo approfondisce la declinazione letteraria dell'além nel Modernismo Portoghese, attraverso il rapporto letterario tra lo stesso Fernando Pessoa e Mário de Sá-Carneiro. Il terzo capitolo riguarda, invece, la funzione emotiva della musica contemporanea, raccontata da un punto di vista più personale. Ne emerge un discorso che mostra la presenza costante e la trasformazione di un bisogno umano di superamento del limite.
