The aim of this study is to provide vaster information about translations and the complexity behind them. Many studies have been carried out about this topic, however, it is fundamental, to update oneself and always be "on time" as cultures and societies keep on evolving constantly. As the world develops, people’s perspective changes with it, it is no wonder that the way translations are now perceived is very different from decades ago. In order to do so, a comparative study between different translations of the novel The Catcher in the Rye by J. Salinger is here provided. The study uses the application Antconc to analyse better the components of the original novel compared to some of the Italian translations. The significance of this study lies in the fact that it provides a throughout view of what a translation is perceived like, what time does to it and what people expect it to be.

Abstract
The aim of this study is to provide vaster information about translations and the complexity behind them. Many studies have been carried out about this topic, however, it is fundamental, to update oneself and always be "on time" as cultures and societies keep on evolving constantly. As the world develops, people’s perspective changes with it, it is no wonder that the way translations are now perceived is very different from decades ago. In order to do so, a comparative study between different translations of the novel The Catcher in the Rye by J. Salinger is here provided. The study uses the application Antconc to analyse better the components of the original novel compared to some of the Italian translations. The significance of this study lies in the fact that it provides a throughout view of what a translation is perceived like, what time does to it and what people expect it to be.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
