This thesis work analyses the female figure in contemporary Angolan poetry as a symbolic space of intersection between memory, body and national identity in the postcolonial context. The research is based on a comparative comparison between two authors from different generations: Ana Paula Tavares and Yara Monteiro. Through the analysis of the collections *Ritos de Passagem* and *Memórias Aparições Arritmias*, it is examined how the woman oscillates between the ancestral dimension of the rite and collective memory (Tavares) and a fragmented perspective, marked by diaspora and identity discontinuity (Monteiro). The work is divided into four chapters: a historical-literary picture of post-independency Angola, two monographic chapters of textual analysis and a final chapter of direct comparison. The objective is to demonstrate how female poetic writing is an active tool for cultural reworking and interpretation of the social transformations of contemporary Angola.
