This thesis aims to analyse the role of cultural events in the wine sector as tools for promoting local areas and enhancing the visibility of wine-producing companies. In particular, the study focuses on Vinitaly, Italy's leading wine trade fair, examining its history, evolution, and organisational characteristics. Through the analysis of the Vinitaly case study, the research seeks to identify the strategies that make a large-scale event an effective tool for communication and business development within the wine industry. These elements are then compared with an event organised by a small winery in order to highlight its strengths, critical issues, and potential. The aim of the thesis is to understand how local events can contribute to the promotion of small wineries and the enhancement of local areas, identifying strategies that can strengthen their visibility and positioning through effective event management.
