This thesis aims to examine the chemistry of transition metal complexes coordinated to carbene ligands functionalized with phosphonium groups. The introduction of the phosphonium group, acting as a lipophilic cation, is of significant interest in the bioinorganic field, as it can potentially promote the cellular uptake, targeting, and accumulation of the metal center. The work will focus on a bibliographic analysis of the structural characteristics, reactivity, and promising biological applications of this specific class of compounds.

Abstract
This thesis aims to examine the chemistry of transition metal complexes coordinated to carbene ligands functionalized with phosphonium groups. The introduction of the phosphonium group, acting as a lipophilic cation, is of significant interest in the bioinorganic field, as it can potentially promote the cellular uptake, targeting, and accumulation of the metal center. The work will focus on a bibliographic analysis of the structural characteristics, reactivity, and promising biological applications of this specific class of compounds.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
