Patocka e le filosofie della storia nel Novecento. La domanda sul senso nei saggi eretici

Questa tesi intende valorizzare un interrogativo ricorrente: la domanda sul senso della storia. Il primo capitolo motiva la scelta dell'argomento e giustifica l'interesse per un problema ineludibile e un dibattito filosofico tuttora ancora aperto. In esso si offre inoltre un'esposizione delle principali interpretazioni proposte da alcuni tra i maggiori pensatori del Novecento fino ai giorni nostri. Il secondo capitolo presenta le tesi di Patočka esposte nei Saggi eretici di filosofia della storia. Il contenuto dei sei saggi propone una concezione della storia fondamentalmente diversa da tutte le altre precedenti letture. Il terzo capitolo mette a fuoco analogie e divergenze tra questa lettura e le altre, e mostra come la riflessione patočkiana sia in grado di unire il metodo fenomenologico che parte dall'analisi del mondo naturale alla storia. La prospettiva e il filo conduttore di questa ricerca è la storia intesa come cammino dell'uomo in cerca di un compimento della propria umanità. This work is an investigation into a key philosophical question, the question about the meaning of history, as it has been developed by J. Patočka. In the first chapter, the topic is introduced by means of a description of the main accounts that have been put forward during the XX century. In the second chapter, Patočka's account - as it is put forward in his "Heretical Essays in the Philosophy of History" - is examined. It is argued that these essays propose a completely original conception of history. The third chapter points out similarities and differences between Patočka's and other accounts: it is argued that Patočka is able to combine phenomenological method and reflection on history. The main goal consists in showing that Patočka conceived of history as of a journey human beings embark on so that their very nature of human beings can flourish.
