This work assess an Energy Certificate for a library located in the University of Debrecen. The certification has been carried out in Hungary with national regulations and legislation, and then the results are compared to an Energy certificate made for the same building in Italy. A proposal to increase energy efficiency of the building has been made, with cost-effective analysis and recommendations attached in the energy certificate
