Abstract

In this work, we consider a single wireless sensor node characterized by a rechargeable energy battery and a data buffer both with finite size; we evaluate the operation in the presence of a processing energy cost and an efficiency constant. The aim is to maximize the total number of data really transmitted, and, for this purpose, we propose an algorithm, based on a MDP and solved using value iteration in order to find the optimal action in terms of transmitted and sensed data.
