This thesis is a review on the activities performed during a six-month internship in the ESA/ESTEC (Noordwijk, The Netherlands) antenna section. The goal of the stage was to improve a system for the electromagnetic data exchange. The EDX language is the answer to the need of exchanging data among different elaboration softwares using models defined with an ad-hoc language. The tool used for the exchange is a C/C++ library called EDI and currently used by several parterns and universities
