The focus of this work is the study of the buckling behaviour of a metal strip in a transverse flux induction heating process. In particular, a FEM model was developed in order to simulate the afore-mentioned process. The thesis will present the step by step construction of the code. The model consists of a Multiphysics simulation: thermal and structural. The structural part is a combination of the ANSYS® buckling analyses: Eigenvalue linear buckling analysis and non-linear buckling analysis.

Abstract

The focus of this work is the study of the buckling behaviour of a metal strip in a transverse flux induction heating process. In particular, a FEM model was developed in order to simulate the afore-mentioned process. The thesis will present the step by step construction of the code. The model consists of a Multiphysics simulation: thermal and structural. The structural part is a combination of the ANSYS® buckling analyses: Eigenvalue linear buckling analysis and non-linear buckling analysis.
