Abstract

Examination and evaluation of the performance of the boundary layer ingesting S-duct intake in a conventional aircraft fitted with an aft-fan engine through a parametric study conducted with CFD simulation. The analysis concerns the investigation of the design process of a S-duct and the exploration of the main flow features upstream the intake and through it. Different shapes of the lip, throat heights and CR are discussed for several intake designs varying the mass flow ratio.
