A GIS-based model is proposed for the calculation of the LEC of several electrification options: solar system, diesel generator set and solar-diesel hybrid system. While creating the required inputs, a method for the creation of high-resolution solar radiation maps is defined. The model is finally tested for the case study of the community of Guasasa (Cuba). The objective is to provide the groundwork for the development of a decision-making tool for rural electrification assessment.

Abstract
A GIS-based model is proposed for the calculation of the LEC of several electrification options: solar system, diesel generator set and solar-diesel hybrid system. While creating the required inputs, a method for the creation of high-resolution solar radiation maps is defined. The model is finally tested for the case study of the community of Guasasa (Cuba). The objective is to provide the groundwork for the development of a decision-making tool for rural electrification assessment.File in questo prodotto:
