The work is the study of the fracture behavior of pre-cracked specimens subjected to Asymmetric Four-Point bending configurations. Several types of materials were considered, belonging to the classes of Rocks, Polymers, Ceramics, and Steel. The ASED criterion is applied for failure loads assessment, while other theoretical criteria were applied to predict the initiation angle of the cracks. These are the MTS, GMTS, SED, and G criteria.

Abstract

The work is the study of the fracture behavior of pre-cracked specimens subjected to Asymmetric Four-Point bending configurations. Several types of materials were considered, belonging to the classes of Rocks, Polymers, Ceramics, and Steel. The ASED criterion is applied for failure loads assessment, while other theoretical criteria were applied to predict the initiation angle of the cracks. These are the MTS, GMTS, SED, and G criteria.
