We present the study of a microwave optical detector which exploits the Faraday rotation in paramagnetic crystals. We link the rotation to the spin population of the crystal in which the Zeeman effect take place after the application of a magnetic field, supposing µB<<kT. We proceed to connect the change in rotation angle to the microwaves detection, esteemating the sensibility being of the order of fW Lastly we measure the constanI of Verdet of a paramagnetic GSO crystal, finding a value of 18,25 °/(mm T).
