We focused on the manufacturing of straight VAWT blades, considering the production of different, custom-designed blades. We evaluated and proposed an Additive Manufacturing - Filament Winding process chain, in which the blade is printed as mandrel for the subsequent winding. We produced two demonstrators in laboratory: a NACA 0021 and a NACA 0015 with optimized profile. The first successfully validated the process chain, the latter defined its potential applications and limitations.

Abstract
We focused on the manufacturing of straight VAWT blades, considering the production of different, custom-designed blades. We evaluated and proposed an Additive Manufacturing - Filament Winding process chain, in which the blade is printed as mandrel for the subsequent winding. We produced two demonstrators in laboratory: a NACA 0021 and a NACA 0015 with optimized profile. The first successfully validated the process chain, the latter defined its potential applications and limitations.File in questo prodotto:
