A long-term monitoring of nitrogen dynamics has been carried on in a salt marsh of the Venice Lagoon and a model was developed and calibrated with these results. The salt marsh shows an heterogeneous behavior but, through the model, it is evaluated that it processes 12.37 gN m-2 y-1. Ecosystem service is evaluated, in terms of nitrogen loads reduction, resulting equal to 1170 € ha-1 y-1.

Abstract
