For the production of negative ion-based neutral beam injectors, plasma neutralizers guarantee higher neutralization efficiencies than neutral gas neutralizers. Performances of different degrees of ionization neutralizers were quantified. Preliminary studies for NIO1 plasma neutralizer were made with the purpose of reaching the highest possible neutralization efficiency.
