Eyes have been defined as a window to the soul, and never a definition has been more appropriate. Besides allowing us to navigate through our surroundings, eye movements have been used in psychology to gain some insight about what objects were attested to, in what order, and for how long. These measures can be analyzed and used to deepen our understanding of cognitive processes: furthermore, we investigate a possible link between eye movements and scene recognition, and its possible implications to forensic psychology.

Abstract

Eyes have been defined as a window to the soul, and never a definition has been more appropriate. Besides allowing us to navigate through our surroundings, eye movements have been used in psychology to gain some insight about what objects were attested to, in what order, and for how long. These measures can be analyzed and used to deepen our understanding of cognitive processes: furthermore, we investigate a possible link between eye movements and scene recognition, and its possible implications to forensic psychology.

Hidden in plain sight: how eye movements reveal scene recognition
Eyes have been defined as a window to the soul, and never a definition has been more appropriate. Besides allowing us to navigate through our surroundings, eye movements have been used in psychology to gain some insight about what objects were attested to, in what order, and for how long. These measures can be analyzed and used to deepen our understanding of cognitive processes: furthermore, we investigate a possible link between eye movements and scene recognition, and its possible implications to forensic psychology.
