Numerous people incarcerated have commited crimes related to drugs; among them are legal and illegal immigrants. This work aims at discussing the situation of people suffering from drug addiction in jail, with a particular focus on immigrants and on their social reintegration. This is achieved by providing statistical data on the phenomenon of drug addiction and immigration, by addressing the problems of stigmatization and marginalization of immigrants, and by discussing the main issues of jails. Moreover, the last chapter will be a case study on the work of the internal Ser.D. of Bollate jail in Milan.
