Anorexia Nervosa and Autism Spectrum Disorders display partially shared neurocognitive patterns and the current scientific literature highlights a substantial degree of comorbidity between the two. Our study aim is to assess the clinical and neurocognitive features of 440 patients who received a life-time diagnosis of anorexia nervosa. In particular, we examined the domains of Theory of the Mind (through the test “Reading the Mind in the Eyes”), visuo-spatial abilities (through the test “Rey-Osterrieth complex figure test”) and some executive functions (through the test “Wisconsin Card Sorting Task”) First and foremost, the study is aimed at describe the patients’ cognitive functioning with regard to the above mentioned areas, comparing it with the clinical and prognostic features.

Abstract
Anorexia Nervosa and Autism Spectrum Disorders display partially shared neurocognitive patterns and the current scientific literature highlights a substantial degree of comorbidity between the two. Our study aim is to assess the clinical and neurocognitive features of 440 patients who received a life-time diagnosis of anorexia nervosa. In particular, we examined the domains of Theory of the Mind (through the test “Reading the Mind in the Eyes”), visuo-spatial abilities (through the test “Rey-Osterrieth complex figure test”) and some executive functions (through the test “Wisconsin Card Sorting Task”) First and foremost, the study is aimed at describe the patients’ cognitive functioning with regard to the above mentioned areas, comparing it with the clinical and prognostic features.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
