The search for solutions to climate change has given a boost to the electric car, which is recognized as a sustainable alternative. The paper tries to shed light on whether the enthusiasm and the investments towards electric mobility are adequate compared to the current state of the technology or if they are subject to bias. To do so, it considers reports from different years and compares the estimated environmental impact of EVs versus ICEs, in order to understand if the estimates are homogeneous. The work attempts to catalog the variables that cause variations in the estimates and the critical issues that arise when comparing electric and conventional cars, in order to provide an overview of the factors that may become limitations to the investment decision-making process.

Abstract
The search for solutions to climate change has given a boost to the electric car, which is recognized as a sustainable alternative. The paper tries to shed light on whether the enthusiasm and the investments towards electric mobility are adequate compared to the current state of the technology or if they are subject to bias. To do so, it considers reports from different years and compares the estimated environmental impact of EVs versus ICEs, in order to understand if the estimates are homogeneous. The work attempts to catalog the variables that cause variations in the estimates and the critical issues that arise when comparing electric and conventional cars, in order to provide an overview of the factors that may become limitations to the investment decision-making process.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
