Fattori di successo e di insuccesso nelle Smart City: un confronto tra Padova e le principali realtà italiane ed europee.

Smart cities are an increasingly widespread reality, consisting of the development of an efficiency-oriented city model: from technological and social innovation to the sustainable use of resources. These changes have now been adopted by many major Italian and international cities, and the city of Padua is following this trend by planning important projects aimed at making the city more innovative and environmentally friendly. Starting with an analysis of the smart city phenomenon and an illustration of which practices have proved positive and which projects have been judged "failures", we will then proceed with a comparison between the city of Padua and the main italian and european cities, based on variables that indicate the primary characteristics of a smart city.

Le smart cities sono una realtà sempre più diffusa, che consiste nello sviluppo di un modello di città orientato all’efficienza: dall’innovazione tecnologica e sociale, all’uso sostenibile delle risorse. Questi cambiamenti sono ormai adottati da molte delle principali città italiane ed internazionali, e la città di Padova sta seguendo questo andamento pianificando importanti progetti volti a rendere la città più innovativa ed ecologica. Partendo dall’analisi del fenomeno della smart city, e dall’esemplificazione di quali pratiche si sono rivelate positive e quali progetti sono stati giudicati “fallimentari”, si procederà poi con il confronto tra la città di Padova e le principali realtà italiane ed europee, basato su variabili capaci di indicare le primarie caratteristiche di una smart city.
