Graphene is a nanomaterial consisting of a single layer of carbon atoms arranged to create a hexagonal honeycomb structure that makes this material infinitely thin; in fact, it appears as a two-dimensional sheet. This structure and the nature of its chemical bonds give Graphene very peculiar mechanical, thermal, optical and electronic properties which in recent years have catalyzed an important research activity in various sectors, including aerospace. Among the many applications are hypothesized solar sails to travel among the stars, space elevators to bring satellites and astronauts into orbit instead of rockets and cooling systems for satellites. In addition, the material is already obtaining positive results in the aeronautical field for the construction of super light and resistant aircraft and helicopters, but also for anti-icing systems integrated into the wings and paints that reduce the radar footprint.

Abstract
In addition, the material is already obtaining positive results in the aeronautical field for the construction of super light and resistant aircraft and helicopters, but also for anti-icing systems integrated into the wings and paints that reduce the radar footprint.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
