PROPULSIONE NUCLEARE NEL SETTORE NAVALE: IMPIEGHI E PROBLEMATICHE RELATIVE AI VELENI PRODOTTI DALLA FISSIONE

The purpose of this work is to describe the implementation of nuclear propulsion systems in the naval sector. In particular, in addition to the historical events that have taken place over time, the main reactors used in boats are presented, namely the pressurized water reactors (PWR). Finally, the topic of poisons produced by nuclear fission is also treated.

Lo scopo di questo lavoro è quello di andare a descrivere l'implementazione dei sistemi propulsivi nucleari nel settore navale. In particolare, oltre alle vicende storiche susseguitesi nel corso del tempo, vengono presentati i principali reattori utilizzati nelle imbarcazioni, vale a dire i reattori ad acqua pressurizzata (PWR). Infine viene anche trattato il tema dei veleni prodotti dalla fissione nucleare.
