The project aims to investigate and analyse the conditions of asylum seekers in the European context. The analysis will start from a general point of view taking into consideration a historical reconstruction and a terminological distinction between migrant, refugee and asylum seeker. Subsequently, the effect of the hotspot approach and the policies of the European agencies will be analysed, leading to a detailed study of the realities of the Italian Repatriation Centres and the Monitoring Centres for Foreigners in Poland.
