The thesis deals with the topic of the "family display" elaborated by the sociologist Janet Finch (2007), from the developments to the changes that have characterized it. The ways in which social actors set up the family display before the advent of social media will be analyzed in this stydy, as well as how this exhibition has changed with the birth of the social. The red thread of the thesis is aimed at answering three questions: why social agents exhibit their family, how, and to whom these practices are addressed. This study also analyzed the changes occurred in this practice, from the sense of the display, to the new tools and the new audience. The empirical research of this thesis was carried out thanks to discursive interviews aimed at investigating the ways in which the actors set up the family display in absence of social networks, and how their practices have changed with the advent of social networks. Elements of continuity with the past, but also what has changed compared with the past.

Abstract
Elements of continuity with the past, but also what has changed compared with the past.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
