The thesis argues about the main energy harvesting technologies (photovoltaic, electromagnetic, piezoelectric and thermoelectric) with the purpose of powering small sensors. These are reasoned starting from studies that individually investigated the differents tecnologies in order to be able to applied to sensors which maintenence may be difficult due to the environment, minimizing it by avoiding the use of batteries. These technologies are also compared with each other taking into account the environment and energy required by the systems.
La tesi tratta le principali tecnologie di raccolta di energia (fotovoltaico, elettromagnetico, piezoelettrico e termoelettrico) con lo scopo di alimentare piccoli sensori. Questi argomenti sono discussi partendo da studi che hanno indagato singolarmente sulle diverse tecnologie per poterle applicare a sensori situati in ambienti ostili o che portavano ad una difficile manutenzione, minimizzandola evitando l'uso di batterie. Queste tecnologie vengono anche confrontate tra loro tenendo conto dell'ambiente di utilizzo e dell'energia richiesta dai sistemi.
