For generations, the Roma community in Sweden have faced structural discrimination. This Thesis is a qualitative study that analyzes the perception of discrimination through a Critical Race Theory lens. Anti-Roma racism is widespread throughout Europe and Sweden and is ingrained everywhere. Sweden has implemented multiple measures and frameworks to combat discrimination, and the historical implications the community has had to endure, following decisions made primarily during the 20th century. The study shows the lived experiences and perceived discrimination by the Roma community based on current policies and how they have changed over the 20th and 21st centuries.
