Ekphrasis und Musik in E.T.A Hoffmanns Die Fermate

My dissertation introduces the life of the german author E.T.A Hoffmann, as well as the historical context of his time. Moving on to the next chapter, it takes into account the text Die Fermate, which is part of Die Serapionsbrüder, written by Hoffmann. The main focus goes to the theme of Ekphrasis, which helps us understanding the concept of Intermediality, that characterises Die Fermate as a whole. The dissertation ends with an analysis of the main topics characterising the Author and its style.
