This work was born with the aim of examining the importance of a greater media inclusiveness of gender and sexuality issues for today's young people, going into more depth on some of the themes represented in the TV series "Sex Education" and the emotional impact that they had towards the subjects taken into consideration for the analysis. The objectives to be pursued through the research work are: analysis of some of the issues shown within the TV series relating to gender and sexuality; investigation of the feelings young people felt when watching the series and the impact of it on their personal life and their emotions or experiences; investigation of the importance of a greater representation of these issues at the media level. In the introductory chapter the question and objectives of the thesis research are explained. The first chapter illustrates the main concepts of the research, that are sexual education, sexual violence, non-binaryism and finally the media representation, offering the reader definitions, information and state of the art of them. The second chapter explains the research methodology used, that is qualitative analysis through semi-structured interviews. The research is carried out on a sample of 14 people, divided through the variables of gender identity, sexual orientation and age. In the third chapter, the analysis of the material obtained through the interviews is carried out, based on the variables used for sampling, implementing it with some quotes from the interviewees. In the concluding chapter an answer is given to the research question.
Il presente lavoro nasce con l’obiettivo di esaminare l’importanza di una maggiore inclusività mediatica dei temi di genere e sessualità per i giovani di oggi, andando ad approfondire alcune delle tematiche rappresentate nella serie Tv “Sex Education” e l’impatto emotivo che esse hanno avuto nei confronti dei soggetti presi in considerazione per l’analisi. Gli obiettivi da perseguire tramite il lavoro di ricerca sono: analisi di alcune delle tematiche presenti all’interno della serie Tv inerenti a genere e sessualità; indagine sulle sensazioni provate dai ragazzi alla visione della serie e l’impatto di essa sulla loro vita personale e sulle loro emozioni o esperienze; indagine sull’importanza di una maggiore rappresentazione di queste tematiche a livello mediatico. Nel capitolo introduttivo vengono esplicati la domanda e gli obiettivi della ricerca di tesi. Nel primo capitolo vengono illustrati i concetti principali della ricerca, ovvero l’educazione sessuale, la violenza sessuale, il non binarismo e infine la rappresentazione mediatica, offrendo al lettore definizioni, informazioni e stato dell'arte di essi. Nel secondo capitolo viene esplicata la metodologia di ricerca utilizzata, ovvero analisi qualitativa tramite interviste semi-strutturate. La ricerca viene effettuata su un campione di 14 persone, suddivise attraverso le variabili di identità di genere, orientamento sessuale e età. Nel terzo capitolo viene svolta l’analisi del materiale ottenuto tramite le interviste, in base alle variabili utilizzate per il campionamento, implementando essa con alcune citazioni dei soggetti intervistati. Nel capitolo conclusivo viene data una risposta alla domanda di ricerca.
