This Bachelor's Thesis aims at analyzing the artificial aortic valve. First, it is going to present the nature of valve devices and the fluid dynamics principles that are necessary for the understanding of the following sections of this work. Second, the specific topics of the native aortic valve, the importance of sinuses of Valsalva in the aortic closing, and the related phenomena are going to be described in detail. Third, this work is going to discuss the closing mechanism of the various valve models, focusing on the sounds produced at the end of the process. Finally, the last section develops the conclusions.
