Autoregulation is a training method, which consist in daily, weekly and monthly adjustment of the training variables (e.g. volume and intensity) based on the subject’s physical and psychological state. The goal of this thesis is a review of the scientific literature related to Autoregulation in Resistance Training, in particular, how to use RPE (Rate of Perceived Exertion) and RIR (Repetitions In Reserve) as methods for improving Maximal Strenght (1RM) and Muscle Hypertrophy in three different categories of subjects based on their training experience (Beginners, Intermediate, Advanced).
