This thesis describes the global value chains and trade patterns established by China with different African countries in recent years. A comparison of five African aggregates is made and then the differences between exported and imported products over time with China are observed. The elements of the value chain that have strengthened the trade relationship between China and Africa are explored, exposing the advantages and disadvantages of this relationship over time from both perspectives.
