Abstract

The main theme of the thesis has been the study of the spatial evolution of the woods present on the Plateau of the 7 Municipalities, which they have suffered in the last century a series of events that have modified the surface , starting from the end of the Great War up to the storm "Vaia". The research was carried out to answer the question of how a forest ecosystem changes on the basis of natural dynamics, such as the renewal and search for habitats favorable to the development of the plant, and of anthropogenic origin that have altered what was the balance of forest, defined as the “CLIMAX” stage. Through the use of frames extracted from the Geoportal of the Veneto Region, in the Aerofototeca section, it was possible to create a 3D model of the Plateau of the 7 municipalities and subsequently a project was prepared with the QGIS system to analyze and describe the spatial variations of the forest area. of the Plateau from 1982 to 2001 and from 2001 to 2018, taking advantage of georeferencing and the construction of shapefiles for the areas closed by the forest.
