La storia della Fast Fashion dalla nascita agli sviluppi recenti in termini di impatto ambientale e manodopera. Il caso Mango.

My dissertation on the history of fast fashion first aims to define what fast fashion is and what aspects characterise it, then to analyse the history of fashion from the industrial revolution to contemporary times by studying what historical stages and innovations led to the development of fast fashion. My paper will then deal with two significant phenomena that are the consequence of the production and commercial processes of fast fashion whose damage is becoming more evident day by day: the exploitation of labour and environment. It will conclude with an examination of the Spanish company Mango, one of the market leaders in this sector. By analysing its reports I will try to understand whether the company's green turn is real or is mere greenwashing.

La mia tesi di Laurea sulla storia della Fast Fashion in prima istanza ha l’obbiettivo di definire che cos’è la fast fashion e quali sono gli aspetti che la caratterizzano, successivamente analizzare la storia della moda a partire dalla rivoluzione industriale fino alla contemporaneità studiando quali sono state le tappe storiche, le innovazioni che hanno portato allo sviluppo della moda veloce. Il mio elaborato tratterà successivamente due fenomeni significativi che sono la conseguenza dei processi produttivi e commerciali della fast fashion i cui danni sono giorno dopo giorno più evidenti: lo sfruttamento della manodopera e dell’ambiente. Il tutto si concluderà con un’esaminazione dell’azienda spagnola Mango, una delle aziende leader di mercato di questo settore, analizzando i suoi report si cercherà di capire se la svolta green dell'azienda sia reale o sia del mero greenwashing.
