The aim of this thesis is to analyse the concept of Punishment from the perspective of Restorative Justice (RJ). In the first chapter, the characteristics of RJ are presented. The second chapter focuses on the analysis of the theory of retributive justice, that is completely different from the restorative one. In the third and last chapter, the characteristics and the meaning of punishment in RJ are outlined.
